As I find myself getting closer and closer to the mark and biggest day of a college students’ career, graduation day. The day we are all so excited to reach but for some a day we dread. Because, is it really all over? For the past however many years, we have invested time, missed events, and our personal lives to get to this day and it’s over within a few hours. So, as I prepare for my exit plan I have been thinking, what does life look at after college for me? Well, grad school is in the cards but what about career opportunities, networking, and building meaningful/successful connections. Through my time at UWM, I found that I have been encouraged to succeed, keep going, and most important of all to grow. To stay where you are comfortable does not always amount to growth or the goals you have for yourself. Sometimes you have to go where it’s uncomfortable to reach that peak. It all starts with the belief that you can do it, to find the tenacity in yourself to embark on such a journey starts with the biggest part, the mindset that allows us to keep going. Moving beyond the fear, the worries, the anxiety.
The video I have chosen is one that motivates, encourages, and gives grace to the listener. No, life will not always look like what we imagine but we have to try and do the best we can to prepare for entering as many call it, “the real world”. Discussing the importance of personal growth as well as professional growth. How we can obtain success in other areas by taking care of self and responsibilities. Through every lesson, test, obstacle, and major achievement I hope to continue to learn, grow, and carry all that I’ve taken into my career.
